Revolution by Edgar Spieker

ENGLISH

Two weeks ago was equinox. It’s the first time when the light of the day is as long as the dark of the night. In the northern hemisphere, where I live, this marks the beginning of spring. This year my inner resonance of what is happening in nature is stronger and I am more conscious of it than it ever was for me. I always loved spring, new beginnings, the promise of new life, new unfoldings, new experiences. An exciting anticipation.

This year when I look into our garden and see the crocus flowers making their way through the still frozen soil, I had a sense of admiration and an image of “Revolution”. A force of unstoppable optimism, new life rising up from the dead leftover from last year, proving all wrong that thought death is the final end.

In Soul Motion we practice to listen more closely to the inner resonance of what is happening in the world around us. This inner response can inform, stimulate, encourage or confuse us. It can help us to get to know ourselves better, discover new possibilities of expression and enhances the connection to other souls in motion and to the great dance of life.

So my latest inspiration is “Revolution”. A few days ago I learned that the original meaning of the word is “to orbit”, and that it was first used in the 16th century by Nicolaus Copernicus for describing the circling of the planets. So for a few days I am finding myself investigating circular movements in my body. And I found that it works great for me to more and more let go of the winter-hibernation-mode that my body is still in. I get a sense of grow of internal space and more softness in my joints and muscles.

On the dance floor I am experiencing a greater sense of courage, creativity and clarity. I know (once again) that in whatever life situation, age or shape I am in, there is always a new beginning just waiting to unfold. Like the crocus flowers growing right through the frozen soil towards the light as if shouting out loud: “It’s time for a revolution!“

DEUTSCH
